Before transitioning to venture capital, Adzmel spent over a decade in the energy sector, progressing through engineering, project development, and strategic leadership roles. He began his career as a project development engineer, working on large-scale energy infrastructure projects before moving into subsurface and commercial roles, where he developed strategies for Malaysia’s upstream petroleum sector.
His work focused on local industry development, strategic partnership, and designing new fiscal models to extend the economic lifecycle of Malaysia’s petroleum assets. Recognized for his ability to bridge technical depth with commercial strategy, Adzmel was instrumental in building PETRONAS Ventures, the company’s corporate venture capital arm.
As founding member, he played a critical role in developing PETRONAS Ventures strategy, focusing on new energy, advanced materials, and industrial automation technologies to future-proof the company’s operations. This experience gave him first hand experience and exposure to venture investing, corporate innovation, and startup collaboration, solidifying his passion for backing frontier technologies with transformational impact.
At Piva, Adzmel applies his technical, commercial, and investment expertise to identify and back visionary entrepreneurs reshaping the future of energy and industry. Adzmel has been instrumental in sourcing, structuring and supporting investments in companies such as Oobli, OneRail and Ineratec. Beyond investments, he also plays a key role in LP relationship and fundraising strategy, having originated and managed Piva’s relationship with PETRONAS.

Cynthia Ann Peterson is a Custodian, Social Performance in PETRONAS. A Chartered Member of The Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (MAusIMM). She has been in the energy industry for 17 years, with international experience in managing social risks across the lifecycle of the business value chain. She is the Vice Chair of the Human Rights Working Group in IPIECA, as well as a member of the Worker Welfare Task Force, and Supply Chain Working Group. She is also a member of various working groups in WBCSD. Cynthia has a post-graduate qualification in Corporate Social Responsibility, and is currently completing her PhD in Human Rights at Mahidol University in Thailand.
Dr. James Lawrence France

Dr James France is a Senior Research Fellow at Royal Holloway University of London, where he maintains an active research portfolio across many aspects of methane quantification and attribution from anthropogenic and natural sources around the world. He is based in West London, UK and acts as a scientific advisor to the United Nations Environment Programme’s International Methane Emissions Observatory where he oversees the methane science studies programme. He has an MSci. in Geosciences, and a Ph.D. in Snowpack Chemistry, both from the University of London. He has over 15 years of post-doctoral research experience and has published over 70 peer-reviewed papers.
Dr. Peng Chengyao

Chengyao Peng leads China power and renewables research practice in S&P Global Commodity Insight. She specializes in power market fundamentals analysis and forecasting, power market design, policy analysis, company strategies, and technology trends. She regularly presents and moderates executive dialogs at prominent industry conferences, including CERAWeek, World Economic Forum and International Energy Executive Forum.
Based in Beijing, Dr. Peng brings 20 years of vast experience in multinational organizations, state owned enterprises, and government agencies. Before joining S&P Global, Dr. Peng spent 10 years at GE, both in the US and China, and took on various roles across energy businesses. She most recently served as strategy director in GE Renewable Energy, where she oversaw both commercial and product strategies in APAC. Before her GE tenure, Dr. Peng was the assistant general manager for eco technologies planning and investment at Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-city Investment and Development Co. Prior to that, she worked as a program manager at Singapore’s Public Utilities Board.
Dr. Peng holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering from Tongji University, China, a master’s degree in environmental science from Stanford University, California, and a Ph.D. in civil engineering from Beijing University of Technology, China.

Gauri Jauhar

Gauri Jauhar is an Executive Director in S&P Global’s Energy Transition and Clean Tech Global Consulting team. Gauri’s primary focus is conceptualizing and leading the delivery of consulting projects in Indian energy – related to energy policy development, energy market opening, and utilizing global energy best practices to create a competitive Indian energy sector.
Her areas of specialization include the integration of new energy sources into the energy spectrum for companies and countries, financial and operational competitor benchmarking, energy pricing, market entry strategies, and energy policy development. She represents S&P Global in various industry bodies such as the US-India Gas Task Force and the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum’s Renewable Energy Task Force.
Prior to joining S&P Global, Gauri was a Commercial Advisor in Gas Policy & Regulatory Affairs at BP in India. She was the gas policy lead for a multi-disciplinary team leading BP’s energy reform advocacy efforts in India. Before BP, Gauri was a Senior Consultant at PFC Energy (now part of S&P Global), leading PFC Energy’s Integrated Energy business in India and Singapore.
Gauri started her career as a Research Associate at the National Council of Applied Economic Research in New Delhi, analyzing macro-economic policy issues for the Indian economy. Her paper with DK Joshi on “India’s Macro-Stabilization Policy in 1990s: A Review and Assessment” was published in the book, “The Indian State in Transition.”
Gauri has an M.B.A. in Finance from The Johns Hopkins University, an M.S. in International Economics from Radford University and an M.A. in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics. A chemical engineer by trade and an energy professional with over two decades of experience stretching from Liquefied Natural Gas and Upstream technical and operations, operational excellence, governance, and assurance to corporate strategy and sustainability.
Siti is a recipient of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD)’s Leading Women Leading Women Awards for 2022.
Siti has 24 years of Energy industry experience with PETRONAS, the custodian of Malaysia’s hydrocarbon resources and an international energy company with fortune 500 status. In her current role in Corporate Sustainability, she drives and champions PETRONAS’s sustainability capabilities and embedment efforts in translating the company’s commitment to net zero carbon emissions to actions in realising long-term value for business and society.
Her career started in 2001 at Malaysia LNG; she grew into an LNG technology specialist and later headed PETRONAS LNG Complex’s technical services. She then broadened her experiences in various business and corporate functions. In Upstream, she headed Malaysia Asset’s operations assurance and was a member of a corporate-led taskforce that resulted in PETRONAS’ Three-Pronged Growth Strategy. She led the Environment workstream of the Oil & Gas, Energy and Environment initiative, which developed a white paper on Malaysia’s energy landscape to 2050, commissioned by the Malaysian Government in 2018. In 2020, she joined the PETRONAS portfolio Intervention and Transition Crew, which reviewed and made recommendations to elevate and reshape the PETRONAS Group portfolio.
She has a Master of Energy System with first-class honours from Melbourne University, a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering with first-class honours from Adelaide University, and Executive Education from Yale, Stanford, ESADE Business School and WBCSD.
She is a Professional Engineer with a Practicing Certificate from the Board of Engineers, Malaysia. She is an Associate Member of Institution of Chemical Engineers and a Corporate Member of Institution of Engineers Malaysia.

Ms. Yang joined S&P Global in Beijing in 2011 as a power analyst and has since advanced through various leadership roles, including Head of China Gas and Power, Head of China Natural and Low-Carbon Gas, and Head of Asia LNG. Before her tenure at S&P Global, Ms. Yang served as Vice President of Pricing, Products, and Markets at Constellation NewEnergy, the largest power retailer in the US, based in Houston, Texas. He then worked at Singapore Press Holdings’ radio station ‘Money FM 89.3’ as the Finance Presenter for the afternoon show, covering Singapore and global markets, as well as managing the weekly programs ‘Across the ASEAN’ and ‘Forex Fridays’.

Kaori Tachibana

Kaori is a Director within the Carbon and Scenarios team at S&P Global Commodity Insights based in Tokyo. She brings cross-sector expertise across the gas, power and metals and mining over her 15 year career. She is responsible for the development of S&P Global Commodity Insight’s scenarios outlook, exploring alternative outcomes for global energy industries and GHG emissions. Her focus is on Asia pacific, evaluating policy and technology trends to understand the energy transition pathway for Asia.
Previously at Accenture, Kaori advised Japanese utility, chemical and exploration companies on their future energy strategy and their global business operations. Before that she was in Wood Mackenzie supporting the upstream, coal and metals commodity clients. Earlier in her career, she was a consultant at Environmental Resources Management, designing groundwater remediation models in Japan.
Fluent in Japanese and English, Kaori holds a Master of Business Administration from McGill University in Canada.
Mahendran Balakrishnan

Mahendran completed his Masters in International Relations from the University of Aberdeen in 2016 under the Chevening Scholarship to gain global exposure in addressing societal challenges. Guided by his commitment to shape a better tomorrow, he pioneered the establishment of Malaysia’s first-of-its-kind social innovation hub – the Social Enterprise Education Lab (SEEd.Lab) – in partnership with PETRONAS and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). SEEd.Lab aims to tackle social issues by nurturing changemakers and promoting sustainable social enterprises.
As the Head of Innovation, Mahendran identifies strategic social challenges and transform them into opportunities to create impact. His work spans critical domains such as youth unemployment, food and agriculture, education and skills, personal and financial security, health and hygiene, as well as climate and environment. A core part of his responsibilities involves equipping young talents with skills in Design Thinking, digital technology, and entrepreneurship. These initiatives have resulted in the upskilling of over 136 changemakers and the creation of 14 social enterprises, collectively touching more than 28,000 lives in just four years.
Beyond his corporate role, Mahendran is the co-founder of YellowHouse – a grassroot NGO based in Malaysia that supports the well-being of marginalised and vulnerable communities. As a trustee and treasurer, he plays a strategic role in building partnerships, overseeing transparent fund management, driving digital adoption, and contributing to on-the-ground initiatives.
His tenure at PETRONAS has also seen him lead several enterprise-level digital and IT projects – ranging from retail station and aviation fuelling automation to integrated mobile payment systems and Big Data solutions. His prior experience as a Venture Analyst continues to fuel his interest in developing social ventures that are both impactful and investment-ready.
Throughout his journey, Mahendran’s work continues to be recognised at both local and international levels. He was a finalist in the Study UK Alumni Awards 2021 under the Social Impact category and currently serves on the Industrial Advisory Panel for the APU School of Business – further contributing his insights toward shaping the next generation of changemakers.
Mark Eramo

Mark Eramo is co-President of S&P Global Commodity Insights and a member of S&P Global’s Executive Leadership Team.
Most recently, Mr. Eramo was Head of Fuels, Chemicals & Resource Solutions business line for S&P Global Commodity Insights. In that role, he had P&L responsibility and managed a global team of 450 research colleagues, located in all major regions delivering information, insights, and forecasts regarding crude oil, refined products, NGLs and chemical feedstocks, chemicals, agriculture commodities, and freight and commodity shipping analytics.
Prior to that, Mr. Eramo served in various roles over the past 20+ years overseeing downstream industry research and business development teams for IHS Markit and predecessor companies. Before entering the consulting and analysis business, he worked for more than twelve years in the chemicals production industry.
Mr. Eramo holds a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from Cornell University, where he also enjoyed playing American football for the Big Red. Mr. Eramo and his wife have been residents of Houston, Texas, since 1991, where they recently celebrated becoming grandparents.

Mriganka has been with S&P Global for 22 years. She is currently Global Head for Metals and Agriculture News, a role she moved into in January 2025. Prior to this she was Head of the Asia News & Analysis team, in which she brought a unique cross-commodity and regional perspective to the business. She was Head of News for nine years, a time during which her team has expanded into new and exciting commodities markets such as biofuels, battery metals, carbon, and hydrogen, while retaining strong coverage of oil, LNG, metals, and grains. She provides strong cross-commodity regional expertise and thought leadership to the business and to clients. She holds a bachelor’s in economics from the University of Mumbai, and two Masters degrees, in Economics and in International Strategy and Diplomacy, from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Nicholas Yew

Nicholas leads the team which provides the long-term outlook of the downstream refined oil market for Asia and the Middle East which is bottom-up from the Country level. He has also experiences, both in the form of research and consulting, in multiple facets of the downstream segment, ranging from refining and retail fuel segments, to more niche segments such as aviation. The leads with Asia team on the Downstream Market Profile and Annual Strategic Workbook publications.
During his time with S&P Global, he has been involved in market outlook and entry strategy studies, assessing several Asian markets, spanning across multiple segments including transportation fuels, industrial fuels, aviation fuels, bunker fuels, and lubricants. Identified market entry opportunities and hurdles as well as best entry strategy. He was also a member of the Reinventing the Aircraft and the Ship study, looking at the feasibility of alternative fuels, including zero emission fuels, and their associated reduction in carbon emissions.

Her career began in banking with Citibank Berhad, where she built a strong foundation in financial systems and customer-centric innovation before transitioning to PETRONAS. She holds an Executive MBA from IE Business School in Madrid and a bachelor’s degree in international business from Universiti Putra Malaysia. Her academic and professional journey reflects a rare blend of global insight and local expertise, positioning her as a thought leader in energy transition and strategic innovation.
Her portfolio includes leading high-impact initiatives such as the Race2Decarbonise global hackathon, PETRONAS’ first crowdsourced innovation platform aimed at accelerating its Net-Zero Carbon Emissions 2050 (NZCE 2050) agenda. This initiative united global minds to co-create digital solutions for decarbonisation, fostering grassroots innovation and enterprise-wide collaboration. Azlina also spearheaded the launch of EV Charge Go by Gentari, Malaysia’s first mobile electric vehicle (EV) charging service. Operated by Gentari, a clean energy subsidiary of PETRONAS, this “powerbank on wheels” redefines EV charging by delivering power directly to users wherever they are—marking a national milestone in clean energy mobility and supporting Malaysia’s broader decarbonisation roadmap.
In addition to her innovation leadership, Azlina played a pivotal role in asset acquisition and divestment for PETRONAS’ Africa & other portfolio, covering strategic energy assets in Congo, Gabon, Gambia, and Azerbaijan. Her work in this domain involved negotiations, cross border collaboration, and strategic business development that aligned with PETRONAS’ global growth and sustainability objectives.
Her leadership is characterized by strategic foresight, operational excellence, and a deep commitment to innovation. Azlina excels in aligning long-term strategies with enterprise goals, optimizing systems for efficiency, and leading cross-functional teams through complex transformations. Her contributions were recognized with the Thinkers of Tomorrow – Leadership Luminary Award in 2024, celebrating her role as a trailblazer in strategic innovation and enterprise transformation. Beyond her professional achievements, Azlina is a passionate lifelong learner and a strong advocate for knowledge-sharing. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she founded the PETRONAS Book Club, a grassroots initiative that brought together readers across the organization to foster intellectual connection and community during a time of global isolation. Nur Fadillah Mior Sharifuddin

Pn. Nur Fadillah is the Head of Group Technical Capability Management for Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS). She strategized the company’s Just Transition in the talent development segment and is now implementing various uplift programs for the technical workforce especially in emerging, adaptive and green skills.
On the national front, Fadillah collaborates with Jabatan Pendidikan Politeknik dan Kolej Komuniti to increase the employability of graduates. This is through feedback of industry insights, revision in curriculum and advocacy of disability inclusion for equitable quality education.
As a staunch supporter of lifelong learning, she advises the Oil, Gas and Energy Sectorial Training Committee under the Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp) on new module content and best use of the employers collection levy.
Her contribution for the region is as Chairperson for the Policy Research and Capability Building Taskforce in the ASEAN Council of Petroleum (ASCOPE). There, she drives the capability building for CO2 management by meaningful experiential learning visits to CCS and hydrogen operations, co-creation of methane leadership program and sharing of tax incentives to allow viable net-zero carbon emission activities.
Graduated from University of Nottingham in BA Industrial Economics, she has several professional certificates on leadership and management. The most recent is from International Institute for Management Development (IMD) on Winning Sustainability Strategies.
Paul Markwell

Mr Markwell is an independent energy advisor, supporting program design and moderation of sessions at CERAWeek with S&P Global, with a focus on technology and carbon management. He previously led global upstream insight business and consulting teams in IHS Markit over 17 years. He has advised various leading energy companies, governments and investors globally on corporate and technology strategies, energy policy and evaluation of low carbon businesses.
His background also includes over 20 years in Petroleum Engineering, Business Development and Country Manager roles with Shell International and British Borneo (acquired by ENI) in Europe and Asia and as an oil & gas specialist consultant and Practice Manager in McKinsey & Company.
Mr Markwell holds a BSc (Physics) from Imperial College London and an MBA from Henley Management College in the UK. He is a Fellow of the Energy Institute and an Honorary Fellow of Brunel University, London, where he has served as an independent member of Council.
Rahayu Ramli

Rahayu Ramli is a tech enthusiast whose career began in Accenture, focusing on tech consulting for enterprise solutions and emerging technologies. There, she also led the Malaysia office’s Corporate Citizenship efforts in education and skill-building.
Her passion for education and tech led her to Google as Head of Education for Malaysia, collaborating with the Ministry of Education to integrate technology with pedagogy in the classroom, while also working with local communities to establish education- and female-focused tech initiatives.
Rahayu joined PETRONAS in 2018, first focused on digital adoption, and later returning to her tech roots and joining the PETRONAS Cybersecurity team in 2020. From 2023 to 2024, she served as Chief Information Security Officer for Setel, a part of the PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad family, while also leading the larger PETRONAS Cyber Strategy & Architecture team.
An alumni of Johns Hopkins University, Rahayu holds a double degree in Biomedical Engineering and Film & Media Studies, as well as an MSc in Cybersecurity. Outside work, she can be found gaming, reading, running, or hunting for another cup of coffee.
Ramzulhakim Ramli

Ramzulhakim Ramli is General Manager in the Office of EVP & CEO Downstream at PETRONAS, where he works at the intersection of corporate leadership, social innovation, and impact-driven investment. In his role, Ramzul oversaw SEEd.Lab (Social Enterprise Education Lab), a platform that aims to develop young changemakers in setting up sustainable enterprises that address social pain points to positively impact the lives of communities. A passionate endurance athlete and 10-time full IRONMAN triathlon finisher, Ramzul sees a clear parallel between long-distance racing and impact investment—both demand discipline, resilience, and a long-term mindset to cross the finish line. This endurance mindset drives his approach to supporting social enterprises building models that are both commercially sound and socially meaningful. He is a 51-year-old Malaysian and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University, United States. He is a Professional Engineer registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia and a certified Functional Safety Engineer under Technischer Überwachungsverein (TUV) since 2012.
As a PETRONAS Education scholar from secondary studies, he joined PETRONAS in 1997 as a Field Instrument Executive in PETRONAS Chemicals Ammonia Sdn. Bhd. He has held various positions on the Technical Professional career path including Electrical and Instrument Maintenance Superintendent and Staff Engineer before joining Group Technical Solutions (GTS) in July 2008 as Principal Engineer and progressing to take up the role of Custodian for Instrumentation and Control in August 2012. In June 2020, he was appointed as Head of Planning & Corporate Services for PD&T, which became a dual role orchestrating strategic planning and project execution when he was appointed as Head of Group Technical Solutions, PD&T between September 2020 to April 2021.
Ir. Shah Rizal’s enriched technical experience and strategic thinking, combined with his passion in energy sustainability for the future, is evident through his notable achievements. He led the establishment of the Sustainable Development and Enterprise Decarbonisation teams, spearheading the Race2Decarbonise global hackathon to crowd-source innovative solutions that accelerate PETRONAS’ journey towards Net-Zero Carbon Emissions by 2050 (NZCE 2050). Shah Rizal was instrumental in establishing the Result Delivery Program Focus Areas, propelling PETRONAS diversification into non-traditional businesses. His foresight in securing the company’s long-term viability led him to champion the 5G technology adoption in PETRONAS, ahead of the national 5G deployment. This vision also materialized in enterprise solutions like the Enterprise Digital Twin and the crafting of PETRONAS’ comprehensive Cybersecurity Strategy and Framework. He was also a key contributor to the successful delivery of the PETRONAS Floating LNG (PFLNG) 1 & 2 projects.
Ir. Shah Rizal is currently serving as the CEO of PETRONAS Technical Services Sdn Bhd and as the Chairman of PETRONAS Global Technical Solutions Sdn Bhd. Beyond his corporate responsibilities, he serves as an Adjunct Professor at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS. Since August 2021, Ir. Shah Rizal has been a key advocate for diversity and inclusion, serving as the advisor to the PETRONAS Leading Women Network (PLWN), actively supporting initiatives within PETRONAS and across the broader industry.

Shankari Srinivasan is a Vice President of Global Gas & LNG at S&P Global, based in Paris, France. She is responsible for leading global gas research and overseeing a team of close to 100 researchers who develop comprehensive regional gas and LNG analyses. She initiated the company’s hydrogen and low carbon gas research team many years ago. Prior to joining S&P Global, she was Head of Energy Fundamentals at Centrica in the United Kingdom. She was also a senior journalist with a leading English daily for 7 years in Malaysia. Susanna joined S&P Global Mobility in September 2023 and is based in Shanghai, China. Susanna serves as the Associate Director for Sustainable Mobility at the company, and has been working on multiple sustainability projects, topics of which ranging from sustainability regulatory checks for automotive industry, carbon footprint quantification, emission hotspot analysis, circular economy and decarbonization strategy etc.
Prior to starting with S&P Global, Susanna was working in a management consultancy with automotive industry focus and garnered diverse experiences in strategy projects such as market entry, electrification transformation and operational projects such as entity setup PMO, demo car management mechanism optimization and plant operational excellence.
Before starting her consulting career, Susanna also had worked in a Global OEM and OES with a focus on automotive market analytics, sales forecast, competitive benchmarking, strategic corporate planning.
